The Polymorph transforms itself into a shami kebab, evading Lister's attempts to eat it, before getting revenge by masquarading as a pair of shorts
and shrinking on him. In an attempt to preserve his master's genitals, Kryten is caught by Mr Rimmer attempting to remove the shorts with his groinal
attachment fresh from cleaning duties ...
The ship is invaded by an alien lifeform, capable of transforming itself into any object and living off the emotions of the victims it comes into contact with.
It takes Lister's fear, Rimmer's anger, the Cat's coolness and Kryten's guilt in a succession of emotionally crippling attacks. The crew, very different from
their normal selves, attempt to take on the Polymorph, only for it to be destroyed by a very lucky and freak accident involving two bazookoids trapped in
a lift. This episode provides our first glimpse of the Cat without his cool, later repeated several times with his transformation into his alter ego Duane Dibley.
