30 December 2001 The official site FAQ speculates as to the anticipated release dates of a number of eagerly anticipated Red Dwarf productions. The Movie is now anticipated to be released at Christmas 2002, the reason being the need to avoid a clash with the other big movie releases of the year, many of which are to be released in Summer 2002. Plans have been made to produce quality Red Dwarf DVDs, with input from the cast further to their being assembled for the movie. There may also be a series 9, however this is likely to be dependent upon the success of the movie. |

10 December 2001 This is a rumour found on the www.tnmc.org website. Here is some wierd casting rumours about the big screen adaptation of the popular BBC sci-fi/comedy series "Red Dwarf" about a huge mining ship. Sarah Michelle Gellar is in very advanced talks to play the queen of a planet the heroes come across. Jackie Chan has also been slated to star as her bodyguard person who follows her around everywhere. Vinny Jones (Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, Gone in 60 seconds; Snatch) Is aslo said to be in the film. That's all good and well, but the weird bit is that Bill Clinton (yes THAT Bill Clinton) has a minor role in the movie. Surely this must be a joke. We'll have to wait and see.
